Founded in Paris in 1987 by the couturier Christian Lacroix, the house became famous for fearless colour, rich pattern and a theatrical sense of joy that set it apart from the minimalism of its era. That spirit — exuberant, romantic, unmistakably French — still runs through everything that carries the name.
